The research group has completed their work and
terminated at the end of July 2007.
The research program of the Working Group examines
some of the ways in which advanced economies are changing, and are
likely to change, in response to the current accelerated process of
globalization. Of particular interest are the effects of the
liberalization of financial markets, the development and diffusion of
new technologies, and the increased international propagation of
macroeconomic shocks, in part because of European Monetary Union. Of
central substantive importance here is an emerging research agenda on
the links between varieties of capitalism and the diversity of
national political systems
