Lebenslauf

2011 Guest of the Research Unit "Skill Formation and Labor Markets"

Joscha Legewie is PhD student at Columbia University in New York City. His current research examines the ways in which peers in the school context, and student culture affects educational outcomes, and particularly the gender gap in education. Methodologically, his research builds on rigorous causal inference based on natural or quasi-experimental research designs, and his focus on processes in the local environment informs our understanding of the mechanisms that explain the causal effect. His findings were published in the American Sociological Review, and other major journals.
