Alliances and Alliance Formation in Conflict

The Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance and the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB) are jointly organizing an international Conference on

"Alliances and Alliance Formation in Conflict"

which will take place from September 1-2, 2011 in Berlin. The aim of the conference is to reach a deeper understanding for when alliances in conflict form, when they might be stable or break up, and what this implies for conflict. The conference will provide a platform for the leading experts on alliances in conflict both in Economics and in Political Science to meet and to exchange ideas and research results about the phenomenon of alliances in contests or in conflict more generally.
