Cooperation
Innovative, user-oriented services are the focus of our work in the Library and Scientific Information area. Providing adequate services would be impossible without the cooperation of a number of competent partners. At the same time, the highly specialized library collections are an important resource for social scientific research. That is why we make the contents of our catalogue in particular available to external partners as well. Ultimately, the cooperative relationships serve the development of young scholars, in particular through internships. In this way, multifaceted cooperative relationships result, with the following partners and in the following areas, among others:
- Specialized Libraries Work Association. (ASpB): Information exchange, making use of training opportunities;
- Working Group on Libraries as well as Open Access Working Group Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Scientific Community: information exchange, joint licensing of electronic resources;
- Berliner Arbeitskreis Information (BAK): information exchange, joint events, perception of training opportunities;
- Database Information System (DBIS; service of the University of Regensburg Library): documentation of all WZB-licensed databases;
- German National Library of Economics (ZBW): Providing WZB publications to the economic sciences repository EconStor and the Open Access platform Research Papers in Economics (RePEc);
- „The Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek“ – Electronic Journals Library“ (EZB; provided by the University of Regensburg Library): Documentation of all WZB-licensed electronic journals;
- Fachhochschule Potsdam, Fachbereich Informationswissenschaften (Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, Department of Information Sciences): Information exchange, internship opportunities for students;
- Friedrich Althoff Konsortium: joint licensing of electronic information resources;
- GESIS: participation in the social scientific internet portal Sowiport, making WZB publications available through the "Social Science Open Access Repository";
- Hertie School of Governance, Library: Information exchange, enabling reciprocal use of library collections within the framework of licensing agreements and other limitations;
- Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Institute for Library and Information Sciences: Information exchange, internship opportunities for students;
- Initiative Fortbildung für Spezialbibliotheken und verwandte Einrichtungen e.V (Further Education Initiative for Specialized Libraries and Related Institutions): Information exchange, joint events, making use of further education programs;
- Cooperative Library Network Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV): Integration of the WZB online catalog into the research portal KOBV;
- Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin: Information exchange, joint events, making use of further education programs; making use of further education programs;
- Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB) (Periodicals Database); joint offering of the Berlin State Library and the German National Library): documentation of the existing collection of printed journals at the WZB.
