Stable Democracies through Greater Participation
How can new forms of participation strengthen representative democracies? Does more political involvement increase their stability and legitimacy? These questions are at the center of WZB guest scholar Thamy Pogrebinschi’s research project. The professor from State University of Rio de Janeiro has been awarded an A.SK Fellowship for her endeavor. For one year, she will conduct research at the WZB and develop the concept of a pragmatic democracy using the example of Brazil and other democratic states.
