Organizations, no matter how successful they have been in the past,
need to engage in learning in order to survive and thrive in rapidly
changing social, political, economic and technological environments.
Scholars from a wide range of disciplines have converged on the
topic of organizational learning over the past years because it
provides a platform for exploring the dynamics of organizational
perception and change.
Since the early 1990s, the members of the research unit have
undertaken a number of international projects on
organizational learning and
knowledge. Several of those studies focused on
actors of organizational learning
and others concentrated on
corporations and international organizations.
The current research program accentuates the relationships
between knowledge, learning, and
culture. The expertise that has been built up about
organizational learning in China
will continue to be developed in the research unit.
The research program on
organizational learning and culture draws on earlier work in
related areas, particularly on
organizational culture and
business and society. Themes within those areas that will
receive attention in the current program are
corporate social responsibility
and the socio-politically relevant theme of
women in management.
The work in this area draws on years of
experience in social science
research. |
