Sigurt Vitols is a Senior Research Fellow in the Research Unit
Internationalization and Organization. His research involves an
interdisciplinary “comparative capitalisms” approach to corporate
governance, financial institutions, worker participation and pension
systems. The methodology applied includes traditional case study and
econometric methods as well as newer developments in QCA/fuzzy sets,
network and cluster analysis. His research affiliations include
Harvard University (Wertheim Fellow in the Labor and Worklife
Program), the European Trade Union Institute (Associate Researcher)
and the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies
(Non-Resident Senior Fellow). He has provided expertise to the
German Bundestag, the European Commission and Parliament and the
European trade union movement. He has a B.A. from Haverford College
and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
