  Prof. Dr. Dieter Rucht, born in 1946, studied civic education, sports and political science at the Ludwig-Maximillians-University in Munich; teaching and research activities in Munich, Berlin, Cambridge/Mass. and Paris; since 2000 back at the Social Science Center Berlin; main fields of interest: political sociology, public sphere, social movements; political protest.
