Simon Teune, Dipl.-Soz.
Research Fellow of the Research Group "Civil Society, Citizenship and political Mobilization"

 
 
 

Simon Teune works in the research group "Civil Society, Citizenship and Political Mobilization in Europe" since January 2005. His main interests are protests and social movements. Initially, he was involved in the research project "Democracy in Europe and the Mobilization in Europe" (Demos) that compared global justice movements in Europe. Later he analysed the coverage of G8-protests in Heiligendamm 2007 and worked on the project "Documentation and Analysis of Protest Events in the Federal Republic" (Prodat). Currently, he holds a PhD scholarship granted by Hans-Böckler-Stiftung. Teune studied sociology, philosophy and psychology at the University of Marburg and at the Free University Berlin. He prepares his PhD about communication strategies of global justice groups at the Free University Berlin.
