The joint union catalogue (GVK) is the freely accessible section of the union database K10plus of the GBV and the SWB. The GVK contains over 72.6 million titles with more than 183.0 million proofs of ownership of books, journals, articles, congress reports, microforms, electronic documents, data carriers, music, maps, etc. from approx. 1,110 GBV and SWB libraries. Titles that are only available in SWB libraries are hidden. In addition, the journal references of all subito delivery libraries from Germany and Austria as well as other German university libraries are included.

Oxford Journals belongs to Oxford University Press, the world's largest university publisher. The site encompasses 324 titles.

The site offers more than 705 electronic periodicals that appear with Sage Publications. They cover a wide range of subjects.

Thanks to the full-text search and classification of each article, each issue can be searched through by keywords in the title or article text, author and subject categories. Afterwards, the article can be viewed completely and quickly on the screen as a full text or the whole page on which a requested article appears. In addition, it is possible to watch a certain issue of the newspaper from a particular day and "leaf through" it.

Web of Science (WoS) is an extensive, multidisciplinary, bibliographical database with references to contributions in journals, books, proceedings, and other sources in the social sciences, the arts and humanities, natural science, and engineering. The WZB has licensed the following ancillary data banks: -Science Citation Index Expanded (1995 -) - Social Sciences Citation Index (includes approximately 4,500 social science and economics journals from 55 disciplines, such as psychology, sociology, and anthropology, 1972 -) - Arts & Humanities Citation Index (with references to approximately 2,300 journals in the arts and humanities, 1975 -) - Book Citation Index (with books published, 2005 -) - Conference Proceedings Citation Index - Science (CPCI-S, conferences, 1990 -) - Conference Proceedings Citation Index - Social Science & Humanities (CPCI-SSH, conferences, 1990 -) - Current Contents Connect (1998 -) - Data Citation Index (research data, 1900 -) - Derwent Innovations Index (edited patents, 1963 -) - Zoological Records (technical database, 1964 -) - Biosis Citation Index (technical database, 1928 -) - Index Chemicus (with search function for chemical structures, 1993 -) - Current Chemical Reactions (technical database, 1985 -) Another special feature of the WoS is that it lists each document's sources (cited references) and gives their citation frequency (times cited).
