The WZB mourns the death of Henrik Enderlein
The former president of the Hertie School of Governance, Henrik Enderlein, has died. The WZB loses an academic partner, wise advisor and wonderful colleague. We will miss him. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
Henrik Enderlein had a lasting impact on the development of the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin from the very beginning, most recently as its president (2018-2021). He was already an important source of advice and ideas for his predecessor, Michael Zürn, director at the WZB since 2004.
The WZB and the Hertie School of Governance have been jointly involved in the training of doctoral students for many years. Henrik Enderlein, an inspiring academic teacher, has always driven this collaboration. He has also been a thought leader in shaping an inclusive social science space in Berlin and a reliable partner to the WZB.
We will sorely miss his voice and his passionate commitment to the social sciences.
