Yi Kou

Yi Kou is currently a philosophy student at the Free University of Berlin (FU). He completed his B.A. in Sociology (major) and in Philosophy (minor) at Renmin University of China (RUC) and holds an M.A. in Sociology from FU. His research interests span the fields of cultural and political sociology, as well as the sociology of knowledge. In particular, he focuses on the topics of social movement and national identity. In his M.A. thesis, he explores the discrepant effects of environmental INGOs in the diffusion of global environmentalist culture across countries with different levels of development. At WZB, he works in the Global Sociology unit, assisting with current projects.
