The Office of the Future between Control and Empowerment - Challenges of digitalization for the new working world of white collar workers
Digitalization holds a great potential of rationalizing the working process of office work. With the implementation of new technologies combined with new organization models the working world of white collar work is changing fundamentally. New communication- and collaboration platforms lead to a substantial opening of formerly subject-based knowledge to a new digital public space. How is this change taking place? How do employees experience it? Does it change the opportunites of workers representation and participation? All these questions shall be answered empirically in this dissertation.
