Dr. Alexander Hoppe
Visiting Researcher of the Research Group
Alexander D. Hoppe is a Kohli Fellow and Postdoctoral Researcher in the Research Group Globalization, Work, and Production. He studies the microfoundations of capitalism, with particular interest in the fashion industry. His current book project, “Making Mass Fashion”, lays out where fashion comes from and how anticipation shapes the labor process. Before coming to the WZB Alex worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies. He received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
