Prof. Dr. Endre Borbáth

Endre Borbáth is a visiting researcher at the WZB’s Center for Civil Society Research and Junior Professor of Empirical-Analytical Participation Research at the Institute of Political Science at Heidelberg University. At Heidelberg, he leads The New Climate Divide, a DFG-funded Emmy Noether research group that studies how climate change is becoming a political divide in Europe.
His research examines political mobilization and changing lines of political conflict in Western, Central and Eastern Europe. He studies how parties and social movements shape conflicts over climate change, migration and European integration, and how these conflicts affect political participation and group identities.
He previously held postdoctoral positions at Freie Universität Berlin and the WZB. He received his PhD from the European University Institute in Florence in 2018.
