Dr. Pola Lehmann
Pola Lehmann is co-leader of the Manifesto Project, which analyses election manifestos in over 60 countries to generate data on party preferences and party positions. Her research focuses on democracy and political representation, political parties and elections, and automated text analysis.
She has studied public administration at the University of Potsdam and the University of Copenhagen and holds a doctoral degree from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In her dissertation, which has been awarded with the Leibniz Dissertation Prize in 2021, she studies the quality of political representation in the German Bundestag and has analyzed how parties change their positions between the electoral arena and the parliamentary arena.
