The Populist Surge and its Consequences for Representation
This international authors’ workshop examines the consequences of electoral success of populist parties for representative democracy. On the one hand, the contributions deal with representation in the narrow sense. They look at descriptive and substantive representation of citizens or voters by populist parties. On the other hand, the workshop asks for the impact of populist parties on party systems, formations of government, political competition, and political participation.
