WZB at the VfS Annual Conference 2026

The WZB Berlin Social Science Center will be participating in this year’s Annual Conference of the German Economic Association (VfS), taking place in Innsbruck from September 14–16. Join us for our Brown Bag Lunch Panel on Tuesday, September 15 (12:30 – 2:00 pm) exploring how geopolitical shifts are reshaping economic relations and the global order.

Markets and Power: How Geopolitics Is Reordering the Global Economy

In light of the erosion of rules-based orders and the growing instrumentalization of economic dependencies, it is increasingly clear that economic and foreign policies must be approached in an integrated manner.  In a dialogue between political science and economics, the discussion explores what role international organizations can still play and how a new order can be (co-)shaped amid the tensions between the United States and China.
