Immigration Policies in Comparison Honored

The Immigration Policies in Comparison (IMPIC) dataset has received an Honorable Mention for the 2021 Lijphart/Przeworski/Verba Dataset Award. The dataset, which was largely developed at the WZB with Marc Helbling as principal investigator, allows for a comparison of immigration policies in most OECD countries for the time period 1980-2010.

The Comparative Politics Section at the American Political Science Association yearly awards outstanding books, articles, datasets and emerging scholars from the field of comparative politics. The IMPIC project's launch paper (2017) gives an introduction to the data set and discusses how to conceptualize and measure immigration policies. Currently, the IMPIC team is updating the dataset to include the years 2011-2018. The dataset is freely available to the public.
