Living freely, living differently, living together?

How do liberal societies stick together? This question is explored by a new animated film produced by students of the Universität der Künste together with WZB researchers.

It deals with the script of liberal societies, its meanings, challenges, and contestations. The film introduces the public opinion survey “PALS – Public Attitudes towards the Liberal Script(s)” and its approach to measuring views on liberal democracy, liberal economy and liberal values from a global perspective.

PALS is one of several research projects of the Cluster of Excellence Contestations of the Liberal Script (SCRIPTS), that unites the WZB and seven major Berlin-based research institutes, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
