New Member of the Academy of Arts & Sciences

Congratulations to WZB's Director Daniel Ziblatt. Has has been elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Daniel Ziblatt is Director of the research unit Transformations of Democracy at the WZB and Eaton Professor of Government at Harvard University. With Steven Levitsky, he is the author of the 2018 international bestseller "How Democracies Die". 

The American Academy of Arts & Sciences, founded in 1780, is both a honorary society with members from the non-profit, private, and public sectors, and an independent policy organization with initiatives in the arts, democracy, education, global affairs, and science.

Announcing the new members elected in 2023, Academy President David W. Oxtoby said, “With the election of these members, the Academy is honoring excellence, innovation, and leadership and recognizing a broad array of stellar accomplishments. We hope every new member celebrates this achievement and joins our work advancing the common good.”
