Welcome to the WZB, Sadiya Ansari!

We welcome Sadiya Ansari to the WZB! She is visiting us through May and June as Journalist in Residence.

Sadiya Ansari is an author and journalist based in London. She has reported from four continents, and her writing has appeared in the Guardian, the New York Times and the Globe and Mail, among other publications. Sadiya Ansari's work has been supported by the Pulitzer Center, Canada Council for the Arts and Berlin Senate Department for Culture. She was a 2021 R. James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellow and the 2023-4 Asper Visiting Professor of Journalism at the University of British Columbia.

Her subject of interest at WZB is looking at labour market integration of those who arrived as refugees in Germany in 2015, especially at women's access to jobs. She is based in the Research Department Migration, Integration, Transnationalization.

The Journalist in Residence Fellowship enables journalists to spend two months at the WZB. During this time, the fellows pursue their own research. They take advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas with researchers and to participate in internal or public events.
