Dr. Eva Marlene Hausteiner

Eva Marlene Hausteiner is Professor of Political Theory and History of Ideas at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Her dissertation at HU Berlin dealt with legitimation strategies of imperial orders, her habilitation thesis at the Unversität Bonn with competing conceptions of federalism in the 20th century in the USA, the Soviet Union and the EU. Her current research project questions the almost consensual norm of political durability: Under what circumstances was and is the stability and permanence of political order argued against? During her guest stay at the WZB, she is particularly examining democratic theoretical answers to this question.
