Gesine Höltmann

Gesine Höltmann is a doctoral researcher at the Center for Civil Society Research. She is involved with the SolZiv project “The Potentials of Civil Society: Solidarity and Crisis Management”, which examines the role of civil society during the Corona crisis, as well as the impact of the crisis on civic engagement and civil society actors.

Previously, she has worked for the civil society organization “More in Common”, researching dynamics of polarization and social cohesion in Germany and the impact of the Corona crisis on societal dynamics in several European countries. Gesine Höltmann holds a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin and a Bachelor in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Maastricht University. She spent time abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the University of Toronto.
