Prof. Jeffrey Kopstein

Jeffrey Kopstein, Visiting Researcher of the Research Department Transformations of Democracy, is Dean’s Professor of Political Science at the University of California Irvine. He has published widely on democracy and dictatorship, political violence, antisemitism, and anti-liberal tendencies in civil society. His latest book is “The Assault on the State: How the Global Attack on Modern Government Endangers our Future” (2024). His popular writing has appeared in “The Washington Post”, “The Atlantic”, and “The Globe and Mail”.
