Juan Sebastián Rico Palacios

Sebastián Rico worked as a student research assistant in the Global Sociology Unit from October 2022 to August 2024. He supported the research activities of Prof. Yasemin Soysal, Ph.D., particularly within the project "The Ecology of Individuals’ Disposition for Scientific Populism".

During his time at the WZB, he conducted research on the social dimensions of climate change, including climate adaptation strategies, climate-induced migration, and anti-science climate discourses. For his master’s thesis in International Relations, he quantitatively investigated the impact of international organizations on nations’ environmental performance using network analysis.
