Laura Schimmöller

Short Bio

Laura Schimmöller is a postdoctoral researcher in the Global Sociology unit at the WZB. She obtained her PhD at Freie Universität Berlin in Global Sociology and her master’s degrees at KU Leuven and Hitotsubashi University. Her research interests lie in the areas of political ecology, human-nature relations, global environmental governance, more-than-human rights, environmental sociology and sociology of knowledge. In her doctoral dissertation, she used ethnographic methods to examine how diverse nature ontologies are mobilized through plural scientific methods and more-than-human rights practices in global biodiversity governance.
