Martijn Mos, PhD candidate in International Relations at Cornell University, was guest at the Global Governance unit from September 2015 until January 2016. His dissertation examines the conditions under which representatives from new member states begin to contest the fundamental values of the EU, with a focus on ethnic and sexual minority rights. During his stay at the WZB, he focused on developing a theoretical framework of norm contestation, and conducting qualitative and quantitative content analyses of parliamentary questions and speeches in the European Parliament.
