Stephen Benard is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at Indiana University. His research focuses on intergroup relations, particularly issues around status, conflict, identity, and inequality. His current projects include National Science Foundation-funded studies of how intergroup revenge and forgiveness shape social status in groups, and the content of Asian stereotypes in the United States and their implications for inequality.
