Analyzing privacy and data protection policies in Germany and India in the post-Snowden years

Abstract

The project compares the historical contexts in which Germany and India developed their positions on data protection and privacy. It also investigates their responses to important global discursive events in this area after 2013 as well as the role of events, actors and interests that have pushed the policy-making process in this area.

The project is realized as part of the German Chancellor Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
