Milan Schröder
Milan Schröder is a research fellow in the TRIAS/Balancing Acts project, bridging the Global Governance and Politics of Digitalization units, where he analyses the European Commission’s public communication and narratives using NLP methods to determine how geopolitical pressures shape the EU’s “third way” of digital policy.
He holds a M.A. in International Affairs from the Hertie School and a B.A. in Political Science and Communication Studies from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Before joining WZB, he worked with the Centre for International Security at the Hertie School and the Chair of Political Communication at Passau University.
His academic interests evolve around the role of narratives in international politics, especially how illiberal counter-narratives may challenge the “Liberal International Order”, and how Data Science and Text-as-Data methods can boost our understanding of ideological competition.
