Reproduction as a policy field
The decision to have children - or not - is a very intimate one. And yet it depends not only on one or two people, but on political and social frameworks. To analyze this framework in more detail, or rather to first obtain the material for analysis, is the goal of the Varieties of Reproduction Regimes project, which Hannah Zagel, Head of the Emmy Noether Research Group, introduces in this interview. For the latest edition of the podcast of the WZB-Mitteilungen, Gabriele Kammerer and Kerstin Schneider met the researcher at a central point in her project: The last responses to the far-reaching expert survey had just been received. The International Reproduction Policy Database will include data from 31 countries over a period of 40 years.
