Carlos Gil-Hernández, a PhD student at the European University Institute in Florence was a visiting researcher at the Research Group “Effort and Social Inequality” from October till November 2019 to study the role of non-cognitive skills in educational inequality. His research interests include child development, intergenerational social mobility and policy evaluation.

Alberto Palacios-Abad was a visiting researcher at the WZB research unit Effort and Social Inequality from March until June 2021. He is a doctoral student at the Department of Social Sciences at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and member of the Effort Project. His research interests include educational inequality, social stratification and experimental methods.
