Practical challenges to and opportunities for being an expert in global health

Lecture by Julian Eckl (University of St. Gallen)

In this talk, Julian Eckl will draw on an ethnographic long-term study of sites of global health governance. At these sites, he has met people who presented themselves as experts, has witnessed conflicts over expertise, and was at times referred to as an expert himself. The goal of the talk will be to provide a perspective on global health governance that zooms in on the lived experiences of practitioners.

Dr. Julian Eckl is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of St. Gallen where he is involved in different research projects on global health.
