Constitutional Identity in the Age of Global Immigration
The workshop explored how migration affects constitutional identity and whether is it justified to impose immigration restrictions in order to protect constitutional essentials. It discussed national, regional, and global challenges presented by international migration, as well as legal and ethical dilemmas that have arisen as a result of massive population movements. The workshop focused on:
1) Theories of Constitutional Identity;
2) Immigration Policy and Constitutional Design;
3) Immigration and Europeanness.
A special issue of the German Law Journal was published as an outcome of this workshop.
