Saba Brachveli

Saba Brachveli is a Georgian human rights and criminal justice lawyer visiting the WZB with a research project on democratic erosion and rising authoritarianism in Georgia. Saba will be based at the WZB until December 2026. He holds an LL.M. in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice from the University of Edinburgh and Tbilisi State University. He has extensive experience in supporting CSOs in navigating an increasingly restrictive legal environment in Georgia and abroad. He is a guest of the Global Governance unit for 2 months.
