Tuition fees do not damp down interest in studying
Tuition fees do not keep eager students from entering universities – according to a study by WZB researchers, Tina Baier and Marcel Helbig. The two researchers even found indications that eligible students consider the higher costs to be offset by greater appreciation of the importance of academic training for their future careers. This particularly applies to young women and men from families without university education. Baier and Helbig present their findings in the new WZBrief Bildung.
